How to file for unemployment benefits?
You should contact your state's unemployment insurance program as soon as possible after becoming unemployed. Generally, you should file your claim with the state where you worked for the state which you have filed the taxes for.
When you file a claim, you will be asked for certain information, such as addresses and dates of your former employment.

How do I appeal a decision I do not agree with?
You have the legal right to appeal any decision made by the EDD that negatively impacts your benefits. If you have been disqualified, you will receive written notification in the mail stating the reasons why.
How Do I Apply?
To receive unemployment insurance benefits, you need to file a claim with the unemployment insurance program in the state where you worked.
